johnnyreb, them vintage guitars are OK, I've played a couple at my local store, feel nice, well balanced, sound pretty good, i see that they're using Trevor Wilkinson's hardware, and pups, he used to work for Fender, now he seems to be doing work for Tokais, Vintage, some work for Fender still, also he builds his own guitars Fret King, i have a Bass plus a guitar by him, (there's a photo of the guitar in the strat section) great guitars, both, But if it's possible i would try both out, and some others, like Tokai, they are very good guitars, and for around the same price, Love the color on the cherry burst,

Yes cofi I've had the LPR since 1978. Bought it used for $400. Never needed another since. If you ever have the chance to play a LP Recording do it. It is nice to have all the tone controls and get so many different sounds out of it. My favorite has to be the out of phase switch. Nice. If you're interested I can give you a quick run down on the controls. The old box guitar I have is a 1975 Harmony, the first guitar I ever owned. A present from my mom. One day it fell and the truss rod broke. Since all I string on it is 8 gauge the neck hasn't bowed in over 25+ years. Is that a quality neck or what? Thanks for the plugs on the Epi johnnyreb. It cost me $450 at guitar center. See it here www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_epiphone_les_paul_classic_quilt_top?full_sku=518353%2e015 It was the only Epi LP Classic they had. The trans yellow finish is gorgeous and plays like a Gibson. Made in China, assembled and set up in the USA. I was very impressed and play it from time to time when my son lets me. For $450 you can't go wrong, this is an excellent guitar and has a fantastic sound with the 2 hb pups. FYI here is the guitar I was going to buy him but he loved the yellow better www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_gibson_les_paul_vintage_mahogany_electric_guitar?full_sku=102771409I played this one and it is another excellent player. The Burst Bucker Pro pups are dynamite. By the way, that old beat up case to the far right is a 1963 Harmony Strat-O-Tone, aka Jupiter model. Handed down from my bro-in-law's dad and finally to me. It's on the rough side but still plays. A family hand me down. I'll get a picture of it one day. And the Faded V i got with the Epi is a jammer. Guys the pups in the V are HOT. I think it has some 10 or 11 gauge strings on it cause it's a little harder for me to bend. I usually put 8s or 9s. Palm mutes and harmonic plucks with max pregain is, you just gotta get one. The 500t in the bridge cuts like a knife. The 496 in the neck is hotter than most bridge pups. It did take a little while to get the feel while playin it. Compared to my LPR, the V is like a feather. Nice talkin to you buds again. The kids a yellin at me so I'll be back soon.

Hi Whitey, i tried one out about 20 or so years ago, great guitars, you know the funny thing, i haven't seen one in the shops, or anywhere in this country for a long long time, i see them on evilbay sometimes, but not very often, they must be quite rare over here, it must be a keeper, for you to keep it so long nice guitar though

Looking good there thesg I like the color, it's sort of light cherry/light burst from that angle, what the neck is it a 50s or 60s, has it got the Burstbucker pro pick up's, they're pretty strong pick ups, very loud, and bright, some find the the neck pup a bit muddy, myself i don't find it muddy at all, is it one of the new VOS one's? looks good i like the standards good guitars. How did the festival go, was there a good turn out, tell us all about it thesg,

Hi Cofi,
It's a 50th neck - I like them fat - and it has the Burstbucker pro's. I'm always playing with the neck pick up - much more bottom in it. If it's any mud there, it's possible to clean it up with the tone controls at the amp. It's a pure standard '05 with thin and satin lacquer.
Ohh, yes - the festival was a great party. Beyond my expectations - great bands, great audience, great arrangement. I 'll try to get some time to write about it.
Rock On!
