All Bassists to me are great. i love em all, but my longest running love affair with a bass player has to be JOHN ENTWHISTLE of The Who, in my opinion that man single handedly advanced bass playing techniques by a millenia, the 'first' rock bass solo in 1965 on My Generation. the guy used all five fingers on both hands played swooping bass runs and lead solos and helped develop new bass guitar designs with guitar companies. much and sadly missed but for a quiet personality he went in rock n roll style.
