Has anyone seen the new line up yet? I have no doubt that they are GOOD, but what is the setlist? my guess is a large dose of Henry songs, including Henry Paul Band songs, a Billy Jones song and about 4 or 5 must-play Hughie songs possibly including "Ghost Riders" (of which not ONE current member of the Outlaws had a damn thing to do with the hit version). That's my guess, but I'd like to hear from someone who was actually THERE.

Hi jesse
If you check out Freebyrd.org, there are comments and a description of the first gig.

I've read a few reviews, and some are saying it was good, I don't think I've read one that didn't like what they heard and saw, What I thinks funny is, the die hards, are now flaming the one's that are writing about how much they enjoyed the shows, Funny shit As I live in the UK, I'm not going to get to see them any time soon So let hope that someone state-side gets to writing a review sometime, Here's a setlist from one of their shows,------------> Set list: There Goes Another Love Song Hurry Sundown Feel the Heat Song in the Breeze Keep Prayin' You are the Show Prisoner South Carolina Gunsmoke So Long Waterhole Knoxville girl Ghost riders in the Sky Grey ghost

I didn't go to the show in Verona, I sold my tickets a while back and joined the boycott. I'm afraid I've lost all interest in the new Outlaws.

Hmm, up to 3 Henry Paul band songs, plus 5 Henry Paul sung Outlaws songs. Only playing the Hughie songs any band called "The Outlaws" HAS to. Why don't they just call it The Henry Paul Band and be done with it?

I have always thought that Henry Paul was a great artist. I have his Grey Ghost album and also some tracks off his latest proposed Blackhawk cd which were never released.
The recent happenings have lowered my opinion of Henry Paul and also Monto Yoho.
I know that we have not been privy all that has been going on, but that lack of info leads to speculation. Sometimes good and sometimes bad.
I have always been of the opinion that no Hughie then no Outlaws.
But good luck to the new band, it just ain't the Outlaws!

I'd be okay with a Hughie-less Outlaws if they did it right. But bringing back Henry and focusing on HIS material is not the right way to handle it. Hell even Doug Gray (Marshall Tucker Band) has the sense not to stray to far from the Toy Caldwell-penned material in MTB's live shows. Also, Bobby Ingram (Molly Hatchet) knew that it was Hatchet's 1st 2 albums that most fans associate with the band. Henry and Monte need to realize that it is HUGHIE's songs that most folks associate with the Outlaws and theier setlists need to reflect that. Otherwise, this band will soon only be doing shows as Blackhawk.

All I can say amigo, is the show at B.B. King Blues Club was A+, They all played real good, the guitars where cooking, Henry did a decent job on HT songs, also he mentioned Hughie a few times, he the song "Ghost Riders" with "That Was For Hughie" Ok this is not the same Outlaws as Hughie's Outlaws, but they are the Outlaws and the only Outlaws we have! IMO, they didn't pretend to be HTs Outlaws, I am a big Hughie fan, & we know he will never come back, but what better guys to carry on the music of the Outlaws but the guys that Hughie played with. It sure was strange not seeing Hughie up there, It was also very strange, when the four guitarsist lined up to play "Green Grass" and not seeing Hughie's "Floridas Guitar Army" up there, it was just not the same, But we have to move on. and these are the new Florida guitar army, I say give them a chance, and go give them a listen, you might enjoy them. As me and a few hundred more did. Respect
