Velvet Revolver

Another awsome band i saw at Sturgis last week, at Buffalo Chip is Velvet Revolver. The band, is made up of Scott Weiland (vocals), Duff McKagan (bass), Matt Sorum (drums), Slash (lead guitar) and Dave Kushner (rhythm guitar),

The group played an amazing show, and i wasnt disappoint with the songs they did, they played songs from Stone Temple Pilots and Guns ‘N Roses - the two groups whose former members make up Velvet Revolver.

The group play'd some of their hits from both of their records - “Contraband” and “Libertad” - all the while throwing in plenty of Guns and STP. Early on they played the STP hit “Vasoline” and later threw in an extended jam of “Sex Type Thing.”

Slash was cool , typical Slash. with shades and a top hat, he shredded solo after solo, and allways smoking cigarette's. frigging cool dude

Go and see them If you get a chance, and Velvet Revolver are touring with Alice In Chains. two awsome bands

Like i posted on the "what are you listening to now thread" i saw them last year, fantastic band

I like them a lot more than i did G & R, i couldn't get into G & R at all,
And frigging asshole Rose, a few times he canceled gigs because he had a sore throat (more like being Pissed drunk)
Some folks had traveled 300 + miles to see them, just to be told the show's canceled, sorry,
you can have a refund, or tickets to see them in ?

I never was a big G&R fan, but they grew on me. One of the bands I was in insisted that we do a couple of their tunes, (Sweet Child O Mine, and knockin' on Heavens Door) I really didn't like either song, but did them anyway for the band.

But I really like VR. ( And I love playing "Slither" on guitar, or bass).

Sorry guy's i like G & R, i think they wrote some cool songs,
Sweet child o' mine, Paradise city, Welcome to the jungle, Live and let die, and so on, great songs imo.

I'm with sparky, I got all the G-n-R discs. punk if you listened to GnR The Spaghetti Incident? you might be swayed to get a few more.
