I know we have been talking about this on Strat's and fings, i just thought I'd put something here as well, I cant move the other post's here, only the whole topic anyway, I have got this to post here, i don't know why i didn't post it before, (I didn't think there was goina be so much posts about slid) anyway, this is another type of slide I've got, a lap steel I love playing about with this, put some echo with it, and you've got Pink Floyd, and others, great piece of kit. This isn't a good one, but i didn't buy it with the attention of been able to be really proficient with it, and playing it in a band and such. (I have enough problems playing my guitars and bass ) like i said a great fun,

It's different sparky, i think it's easier myself, as it's easier to vibrato with it on your knee, and some other things that not so easy (for me) holding it in the guitar style, like twisting the slide when you land on your note, to give a little bend type of effect, it very hard to explain

Sounds like fun, I tried playing slide with the guitar on my knee, and it did seem to be easier getting the vibrato working, so I'd love to have a go on the Lap Steel to see what that is like to play

I'vo got a few guitars that I use for slide but my Mello Bar is really cool. I also love my 1956 National 8 string and 1947 Supro.

Thanks Mary, I'm glad you liked the clip of Sheebeg & Sheemore playing the 8 string National It's very nice music, that was composed around the late 1600 early 1700 amazing playing, I'd still like to see Shannon,s National, & Supro though
