Not exactly "Southern Rock" per se, but I think she deserves mention on this site since A) She sang the duet "Closest Thing To Heaven" with Blackfoot's Rick Medlocke B) Several members of her early band went on to join and/or contribute to Blackfoot (Mark Woerple, Rob Robinson, Benny Rappa) and C) She has a sound (At least on the album I have) similar to the latter day Blackfoot. Only album I have is "Test Your Faith", which isn't even included on her website discography anymore, and there are certainly some Blackfoot-like sounds on there (again, LATTER DAY Blackfoot, for better or worse). Album came out in 1992 and, I believe was her 2nd album. She has 6 albums listed on her website but none from before 1999. I'm pretty sure she has at least 2 other albums including "Test Your Faith". Pretty good stuff, tremendous singer! Mostly played bass on my album, I think she's mostly a guitar player now. Again, not exactly Southern Rock (she's from Michigan), but of the Southern Rock family nonetheless for reasons I already explained. Looking for something different, check her out at www.lizlarin.com pretty cool stuff.
