Are these guys considered "Southern Rock"? I often see "Black Betty" on Southern Rock compilation albums and a local Southern Rock tribute band plays that song as a part of their set. However, I thought I read somewhere that they were from Ohio . I could be wrong. Anyone got any info on these guys? "Black Betty" is one kick-ass song. Do they have any others worth seeking out?

I've always seen them more of a rock band than a Southernrock band, (I know others that think the same) "Black Betty" was originally recorded by Bill Bartlett's band, called "Starstruck", "Black Betty" which I'm sure i read some where, was a hit in some part's of America by "Starstruck", then some record producers in New York heard it, and built the band "Ram Jam" around Bartlett, who re-released the song and it became a hit nationally I've not heard of any other tracks that's as well know'n or played as much as "BlackBetty"?? off they're two album, (but I've not really listened to them that much) "Black Betty" is a killer song, It's amazing, i can see why it get's used and played so much Here's a video of Ram Jam and "Black Betty"
If you look at the guy dancing to the left of the video, he sure look's like Jimmy Page

Notice the drummer's drum stage, pallets. It don't get much more Southern than that. Did anybody notice the nice gold Gibson engraved pup covers?

Yeah whitey, I had noticed them Gibson covers, yet it's not a Gibson guitar, you can see the headstock clearly at one part of the video, At number 42 of the song, it don't look like a Gibson to me, The head is cut like scrolls at the top, and the insignia (Decal) or whatever you call it, hasn't got Gibson on it, it like some flower or flowers in a glass Whatever the guitar is it sounds frigging good But yeah, one hell of a good song, a real foot stomper PS, that is Mr Page yeah
