Chinese copy's

I was surfing the net looking for cheap guitars & i came across these Chinese copy's of Gibson Les Paul's,
In fact they can make any guitar that you want, and the prices are ridicules cheap,


Their called PaylessGuitars.com , they say they have their own factory, they can put any logo you want on the guitar, and they take Paypal payment, also have a return policy, & they ship to any country you want, what do you guy's think,

They look the biz, but they cant be that good can they, i dont know anyone that's bought one or got one, but for that price, I'm thinking of getting one, if the guitar's wood's good, i can always throw in some other pup,s if the ones in there are shit, etc, but i am thinking of getting that gold top,

Another strange thing, look at the pup's they have (looks like) Gibson stickers on them, what that all about, anyone seen any real Gibson's with stickers on the pups,

What do you guy's think then

They look good sparky, but those could be photo's of some other guitars, yeah, and not their's

I'll have to read more about them, and check them out more before i say anything about then

Cool cofi i cant find any reviews about them anywhere

But they cant be all that bad, as i also cant find any bad reviews about them
they do look cool though, from the pics you'd think those are the real deal
real scary as some could try and sell them off as the real deal

I been checkin these guitars out for a while now. In fact I have surfed every guitar on their site. There are plenty of them on ebay too. If you look close, some of the so called Gibsons are these copies. I saw one that cought my eye and sent a question to the seller. He said it feels, looks, sounds and plays like a LP. The only thing bad is he had to have a complete setup done to it. And he was askin more than what Payless sells it for. I want one just to strip down and use as a project guitar just to try different pups and pots on. I saw a stripped down (no tuners, pups, pots or bridge setup) white one on ebay for $150. The only thing I could see wrong was the crown on the headstock was not like a Gibson should be. I am very tempted to get one after the first of the year. The only thing good is they take PayPal. My wife, the expert ebayer of the household, said if it comes in damaged or it isn't what they advertise PayPal could get you a refund. Lots of guitars are made in China, Japan, and Korea. I want 1, maybe 2 of them. A 2 pup for my experimentin stuff and a 3puper, just not one with Ace on the head. Oh, check out some of the fretboard inlays they have.

The only thing good is they take PayPal. My wife, the expert ebayer of the household, said if it comes in damaged or it isn't what they advertise PayPal could get you a refund. Lots of guitars are made in China, Japan, and Korea.

Now this makes good sense, if it is complete shit, it could have got damaged in transit (accidentally on purpose) and you could try and claim your money back though PayPal, unless they decide to send you another one in exchange

A few things I've noticed, some folk's are trying to sell them on evil-bay for $500 to $600 and as real Gibson's, (you can easly spot that their not real Gibson's)
And the other thing is, that the postage & packing cost is about the same as the actual guitar, and you cant claim postage back from Paypal

I've had a real good look at them on their web site, and they do look Ok, I'm real tempted to get me one, i might be throwing my money away, But as Whitey wisely pointed out, a lot of guitars are being made in China, Korea, (even Gibson's got a factory in China) but you will be surprised that they make Epis & some other's there, & also i bet the Walmart ones here's a link to the Gibson Chinese factory www.gibson.com/whatsnew/pressrelease/2003/jan16a.html

But if i was gonna get one, I wouldn't buy a second hand one off evilbay, I'd go for a new one, at least you have got some guarantee of getting some of your money back with PayPal

You never know, I might be nicely surprised, as some of them Epis, & some other eastern guitars are nice ;D

I wonder what else Gibson makes there in China
