I had posted tis on here as Henry's Diary, i dont know if you've read it, but I'll post it here now,

I was at the Blackhawk web site, and i read this, in Henry's Diary,

I think this guy must be living in cuckoo land, he's definitely not living in the same world as me.

Dear Blackhawk Fans,


I just got home from our second day of Blackhawk rehearsal. The band sounds incredible. The musical line-up is as follows: Singing high harmony and playing bass is a good friend of mine by the name of Brett Cartwright. I met Brett in the middle eighties while we were on tour together. He was in Foghat and I was in the Outlaws. He is a great singer-songwriter and aside from the records he has written for himself and the different bands he's been in, he has had many songs cut by other artists including the Billy Ray Cyrus #1 hit "Heart Of A Woman". Singing low harmony and playing lead guitar is an old friend to the Blackhawk family, Chris Anderson. Chris and I played together in the Outlaws from '86 to '89. We both left at the same time to pursue individual career goals. Chris got a record deal with CBS and released a solo record in '91. We invited Chris to join Blackhawk in '99 and he was a popular member of our group on and off for the last eight years. He and I played on the Outlaws thirty year reunion tour together in 2005 and he stayed with them up until recently. Monte Yoho is playing drums with the group and Monte and I go back to 1971 when we started the Outlaws together with the rest of that group's original line up. He played with me in the early eighties with the Henry Paul Band and did the thirty year Outlaws reunion tour with us in 2005 as well. A little Blackhawk trivia: Monte was the drummer on the "Goodbye Says It All" video. Playing keyboards for the group is a man by the name of Jon Coleman. Jon has played with Leroy Parnell for the last few years and I met him on the "Brothers Of The Southland" project. He played keyboards in that group and is a great singer songwriter in his own right. This is the new group and we will be in rehearsal for the next week or so. We are going out together this year and play Blackhawks music, being faithful to the groups original sound and turning up the heat from time to time on some of the more rockin' numbers. You won't be disappointed with this version of Blackhawk !!!!

Can you belive that, him (Henry), Monte, and some others started the "Outlaws" back in 71, Err scuse me M8, but what about Hughie,
No mention of HT, not even out of respect

So this line up of Blackhawk, is near enough the same as Henry's "Outlaws" line up, just add Billy Crain and you got the "Outlaws".

I used to work with a guy who claimed he was a roadie, or maybe he knew a roady for the Henry Paul Band.
He told me HP was an a$$hole.

I still like his music though.

Like I said this sucks.

I've heard that through the grapevine too. Those that said it claimed that was the biggest thing holding him back from making the bigtime.

It does appear ASB knows Mary, and there is another board that he posts on, a HT tribute board where he and the moderator, "hitman" are both in touch with Mary.

In fact I compared that board with freebyrd, and there are actual quotes by mary thanking everyone for their support that the guy "hitman" posted on his board. I do not think anyone would stoop that low to make that up.

Also, it does appear Mary has the leagl rights to not only the name (despite what John Gellman says) and the logo of the cow skull/rattlesnakes.

The fact that Henry is using the musicians (minus 1) for both bands Outlaws AND Blackhawk) speaks of 1 thing........Money!

As far as I am aware the original line-up consisted of Hughie, David Dix, Frank O'Keefe, Frank Guidry and Herb Pino. Circa 1967.

Yes, your very right there Jim, they where the originals, around a bout 1966-67

There's a great story i heard about them, from around that time, 67-68,
They where playing at a club called "The White Rabbit", when the "Outlaws" Bike club turned up, and told them that they weren't happy, and pretty upset about them (Hughie, Frank G, Dave, Herb, and Frank O) using the name "Outlaws" without asking and having permission off them first,

So as I've heard it, the band said if you don't like our music, after listening to us playing now, we will change the name "Outlaws" to some other name,
So they played the best show that they'd ever done (They're words) and the bike club the "Outlaws" loved it, they said they was the best band they'd ever heard, and that they were proud to have them use the name "Outlaws",
Also they loved it so much, that they said if ever they wanted any help with anything, to just get in touch with them and they'd come to they're aid,

I've always loved that story,

Again no mention of Henry, or Monte

You know I'v always wondered about that, like i'v read that the Hells Angels, they have their name copyrighted,
So i would think the "Outlaws" Bike Club would have also" got the name "Outlaws" copyrighted

I know most of us have been following this drama on other forums, but for those who haven't: Apparently an agreement has been reached between Mary Thomasson (Hughie's widow and rightful owner of the Outlaws' name and trademark) and the current band (namely Henry Paul and Monte Yoho). No details have been told as of yet, but at least we can check this new band out without feeling guilty about them ripping off hughie's estate (i.e. Mary).

I had read something about it, so Mary must be happy with the deal that they've cut,
I think it good that they have made up, as such, maybe the Cd can be released now, i would imaging that was something they discussed in the deal,
