Well what can i say about this guy that hasn't already been said, What a great musician, i loved all his songs from the "Folsome Prison Blues" "Orange Blossom Special" "Walk the Line" "A Boy Named Sue" "Ring of Fire", and the list of hits goes on and on to "Hurt" a "Nine Inch Nail" cover, it was Cash's final hit before his death. and is generally recognized as 'his epitaph' He sold over 50 million albums in his nearly 50 year career I saw him playing at the Reading Festival in 1994, and i can tell you it was one hell of a show, so The Man In Black is another of my Favorite's Here is the video "Hurt", man, when i look at this video it makes me really sad, Awesome song, RIP Johnny Cash your still loved Brother. I like Johnny myself, OK, so he was a bit of a bad boy, he got addicted to amphetamines and barbiturates. but so did most of the entertainers, & roadies, (we all know who they are,) they had to have something to keep them going, as they where playing so much, and had long distances to travel between gigs/shows, also It made them feel good, and it was so easy to get, It just a shame it killed so many great musicians and left some mindless, Also the drugs and the problems he had (from childhood) didn't help him, & he did, and turned him violent, From what I've read and heard, he didn't really spend any proper time in jail, only over night's in jail seven times for misdemeanors, and he got 6months suspended sentence. for smuggling prescribed drugs from Mexico, they thought he was bringing in heroin in his guitar, I'm not saying he's an angel, he had many demons, but i do like his music & song's,

I Like Mary's View she takes everybodies side..But Thats not the reason he was in prison,he was in prison for manslawter, at that time he was'nt even playing music. He met Rose Carter, and saw a way out of prison, shes the one who got him a guitar and taugh him how to play,so when he got out he could join her family onstage. Cash was nothing more than a flim-flam man. If it wasn't for Rose Carter im sure he would have stayed in prison .
