Another one of Southern Rock's greats Dies, It's a sad day for ten's of thousands of fans & fellow musicians world wide Brother, Thanks for some great songs and the good music you gave us
Hughie Thomasson (1952 – September 9, 2007) was a guitarist and singer best known for his work with Southern rock band The Outlaws. He wrote most of the songs for The Outlaws including their three biggest hits, "Hurry Sundown", "There Goes Another Love Song," and "Green Grass and High Tides." After The Outlaws disbanded in the early 1990s Thomasson joined Lynyrd Skynyrd as a third guitarist from 1996 until 2005. He left Lynyrd Skynyrd to reform The Outlaws. Thomasson died from a heart attack on the night of September 9, 2007 at his home in Brooksville, Florida.
The aftermath of Hughies death is still being felt. They're going to close the forums at Outlawsmusic.com. The website will still be there. But the forums will be closed because "there is nothing left to talk about"
My one and only post there suggested a couple of websites where I was sure members would be welcome. Including this one.
