Gilmour in Glasto swipe David Gilmour of claims Glastonbury organisers denied Rick Wright his denying wish by turning the band down for last summer's festival. The rock legends approached Michael Eavis earlier this year hoping to become a late addition to the June bill. However, their request was rejected, owing to the line-up for the event already having been finalised. Appearing at the Q Awards yesterday, Gilmour dedicated his Outstanding Contribution Award to Wright, who died last month. He also admitted his band mate had hoped to play one final big show before passing away. "One of the last things he wanted to do, in this last year, was to do a big outdoor festival, such as Glastonbury. "We weren't able to do that due to all sorts of strange reasons, which, again, is a sadness", Gilmour told the crowd at the ceremony. At the same event, Emily Eavis defended the decision taken by Glastonbury, telling the BBC: "It was just purely because we couldn't fit them on anywhere." ****************** Was this wish, to include "Roger Waters" playing with them as "Richard Wright" and "Nick Mason" had made up with "Waters"
Or was "Gilmore" also too busy with doing his own thing (solo project) that was the excuse/reason he kept using to explain the reason why "Pink Floyd with Roger Waters" couldn't get back together,
